OF SUPPORT FOR
“THE FLORIDA 5” 2022 BALLOT INITIATIVES
WHEREAS, the Seminole Soil & Water Conservation District is committed to setting a good example for its citizens regarding water and land conservation and stewardship; and
WHEREAS, the Seminole Soil & Water Conservation District has always encouraged and supported conservation efforts, through various programs and legislation; and
WHEREAS, Florida Right to Clean Water Initiative prohibits pollution of all water sources and provides for local lawmaking to protect water sources within Florida; and
WHEREAS, Florida Prohibit Dredging, Filling, and Degradation of Wetlands Initiative prohibits the dredging, filling, and degradation of wetlands; and
WHEREAS, Florida Prohibit Construction and Expansion of Toll Roads on Rural and Conservation Lands Initiative prohibits the construction and expansion of toll roads on conservation lands and rural lands within the state of Florida; and
WHEREAS, Florida Preservation Efforts and Hunting Bans for Certain Florida Animals Initiative defines “Florida Iconic Species” and prohibit commercial and recreational hunting of such species; and
WHEREAS, Florida Prohibit Captive Wildlife Hunting and Game Farms Initiative prohibits captive wildlife hunting also known as game farm hunting throughout Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Seminole Soil and Water Conservation District was established to promote the conservation of natural lands and soil and water resources for the health, safety, and welfare of the people of Seminole County against improper land use as set forth in Chapter 582 of Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, Seminole Soil and Water Conservation District issues this resolution by common consent supporting the 2022 Florida ballot initiatives collectively known as “The Florida 5”.
